I’m both a bit surprised and unsurprised that it’s been two years since last I posted anything on Hafuboti. I knew that I needed a break, but I had no idea that it would last as long as it has. I’m not even sure that I’ll ever return to posting as regularly as I once…
For the past six or seven years, I have felt incredibly off in all parts of my life. It seemed like no matter what I did, I failed. And many times I failed spectacularly. In front of audiences. In front of my team members. In front of people whom I respect. Or all by myself….
This Michif translation comes from a student at St. Joseph High School, Ottawa. Thank you so much for helping to spread the LAFE message!!! Michif is the beautifully complex language Métis people. The student explained that the first half “Baachiss poor lii liivr” essentially means “building for books.”
I had a librarian write and request a set of Spanish signs using the more inclusive “todes.” Without further ado: a new sign set!
Update 9/7/2023:I learned that at least one person out there (and I’m guessing more) have taken this blog post to mean that I truly believe that all Christians are terrorists. That’s simply not true. Read for context, y’all. I appreciate those who reached out to confirm my stance on this. “There’s some good in this…

Nyima Bhuti, Class of 2025, Wheaton College, Norton, MA reached out with the Tibetan translation of Libraries Are For Everyone. Thank you very much Nyima, for helping to spread the LAFE message!

This is the third LAFE translation from an anonymous public librarian. Of note is that this is also known as Iloco, Iloko, or Iluko.
This is the second of three translations submitted by the same anonymous (and very patient) public librarian. Thanks, again, for helping to spread the LAFE message!!!
I was thrilled to receive this anonymous translations of LAFE. Thank you to that individual for helping to spread the LAFE message!
This library logo mashup goes out to my fellow Our Flag Means Death fans. Click on either image to get the full-sized version that you can download and use. Enjoy!
While working on my classic monster mashup, I could not get the song/idea for a mashup out of my head: Werewolf Bar Mitzvah. After finishing the designs, both the song and idea remained. Now, I’m not a fan of public libraries celebrating holidays. But I couldn’t help myself: between my love of laughter, and Halloween…
🎵 I did the mash – I did the monster mashup-with-the-library-logo. 🎵 This is the first set of new designs I’ve created in years, and the first I did with Affinity Designer. I’m not sponsored by them or anything – I’m just very pleased with Affinity’s program. This also means that I can send you…
Over the years I have created quite a few library logo mashups – many I forgot to share on Hafuboti. Well, I forget no more! With some bonus high-res versions! Having learned how to use Affinity Designer (think cheaper, but just-as-great Adobe Illustrator), I can now create mashups at lightning speeds! Well, maybe not that…
